Pro Gaming with Headphones and Microphones! Or Ventrilo!

Written by me for Associated Content, I would like to share this to all of you on my blog too!

Have You Ever Wondered Why Gamers Always Wear a Headset and Join Ventrilo Servers?

Introduction:

Have you ever wondered why gamers always wear a headset and join Ventrilo servers? Well, it is because wearing a headset and communicating with your teammates can simply increase you and your teammate's chances of
survival. As a byproduct, it also increases your fun game-play experience and lets you take the game as it was supposed to be! First things first, use it at your advantage!

Gameplay

The moment you put on your headset, you will feel the transformation taking place around you. Suddenly your chair turns into a tank seat, your keyboard into an Ak-47, and your beanie into a night vision goggle. You feel the urge to shoot the next person you see, and bomb the next barrack on the crossroad ahead. If you experience all of those above, then it is okay: you are using your headset to the maximum it is suppose to give.

Experience - Hearing and Speaking

The purpose of the headset in any games, Counter-Strike (CS), DoTA (Warcraft III), Starcraft 2, Call of Duty (COD), or Halo is so that you can know where your opponents are and plan group attacks based on the information without the need to type.

Listening

Listening in a headset gives you the audio advantage versus that of speakers. In a headset, you will begin to notice new sounds that you have never heard of before. You will begin to more clearly hear the footsteps your opponents near you are taking, and the power-ups or spell charges that they are doing. To your biggest advantage, this lets you take down the enemy more easily because you most likely know where they are. In Counter Strike, hearing footsteps is an extremely big advantage because you will be able to know that someone is sneaking up behind you and you will be able to shoot him down therefore winning the round for your team. In fantasy RPGs, listening to spell charge-ups or hearing power-ups in sci-fi FPSs are very important advantages too. It will let you respond to situations a few seconds faster, and in fast paced games like Counter Strike and DotA, a few seconds is what you only need to take down an enemy terrorist or hero.

If you have ever played real-time strategy games or FPSs, you will know that group ganking and group cooperation are very important. In fast paced games, typing "Storm Point B" or "Gank Bottom Lane" can be at your disadvantage if the situation is tight. In DotA, group ganking heroes are very common. With the use of headsets, group ganking can happen even faster and more efficiently. With good use of headset communication and cooperation, even with less skill, the chances of your team winning are still extremely big, as a lot of games nowadays rely heavily on team communication.

When playing FPSs, speaking on a headset also increases your chances of survival too. In Counter Strike, knowing where your opponents are located is the key to winning the game. With adequate skills and correct information from your teammate, you will be able to sneak upon your opponents and annihilate them all. In Call of Duty, your team can also come up with great strategies based on real-time information. In general, knowing where you opponent is by communicating with your teammate is the biggest key to winning games and climbing the ladder to the professional zone.

In conclusion, just remember: if you can, always use your headset! Once you put it on, you will know why it is almost essential for professional game-play and you will never want to take it off. Go gamers! Use it at your advantage!
